Happy birthday to myself

Nobu,

Thank you very much for organizing the birthday party for me.

Shinichi, Peggy, Anthony, Zhibin, Mary and Akihiro ! Thank you for your kind words and messages. I am so grateful for having all of you celebrating my last birthday of my 20s and cheering me up when I am let down.

My first car

Thanks to Takanobu for taking professional-level photos for my first car. It was also great fun to drive along the Izu Skyline highway, on top of which you can see a view of the whole Kanto area.

It was a second hand BMW Z4. Although I am not the first owner of the car, it was carefully taken care of by the previous owner, who was in a rush to sell the car and return to his home country.  The model is a relatively old one compared the latest one with a hard top.

Electric car is the future

The BMW i definitely caught all the eyes in this years’ Tokyo moto show. Whether it’s a hybrid or pure electrical car, its sensational debut sends a clear message that electric cars are the future in the card industry.

My first Pachira

Today, I got this shoot from Tokyo-hands shop in Shinjuku. All the plants that I had before ended up succumbed. This time, I am going to try my best to take care of this Pachira. I am going to follow the instruction of the stuff in the shop, which is  spraying water once a week and putting it under the sunshine every morning. I hope it can be with me for a long time.

Tokyo’s radiation level

This is the best chart I have found so far from the NHK website

I was outside  when the peak level of the radiation happens 🙁
according to the chart.. it’s definitely getting better now. This radiation accident seems like a bit overblown. It was quite scary on 15th when the spark happened. I could not image how much radioactive stuff was leaked near the plant.

Although the current radiative level in Tokyo is not too worrying, Tokyo Electric has poorly handled this accident, which caused hundreds of thousands foreigners flee away from the country. It’s time for the Japanese government to review its country’s emergency policy.

I surivived in the 5th biggest earthquake in history

Friends, I am still alive.!  I thought I would be buried in the office today.

All the train are stopped and I am walking home now. Everyone is walking on the street, and all cars on the road stuck in the traffic jam. This is a scene I probably won’t be able to see again in my life!

Don’t know what is the impact on the north Japan, which is much more close to the epicenter ..

Apart from the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, this is the biggest event so far I have experienced.

Moving out Of Ebisu

Having been living in Ebisu for almost 3 years, I decided to move to a little bit further from the downtown so that I can choose an bigger apartment with the same cost.

Ebisu is a really nice area with lots of restaurants, bars and  cafes, I really enjoyed living there.

Lots of good memories and first time.

I hope one day I can come back and live there again.

Chinese Spring Festival Coming Soon

Chinese New Year, also called Chinese Spring Festival (春节) used to be the happiest holidays for me just like the Christmas season for western people. People gather together with their friends and family and I can reunion with my nephew and playmates and we can “play” together and get the “Red packets” from my parents and grandparents and don’t have to get up early and go to school. It used to be such a good holiday that I was always look forward to.

while this sort of feeling fades and I could not find much happiness as used to. Perhaps it is a festival for kids as my mother told me.
